Events

sidewalk-cafe

Virginia lore has it The Dunes washed ashore in the storms of ’03 forming a rock band of hurricane proportion. Pumping rhythm and edgy original tunes have sparked near orgy-riots in bars and moose lodges across the country. Called an Artist To Watch by The Virginian Pilot, played on air from Canada to Brazil, The Dunes rock all seasons.

Dan PravdaGuitar/Lead Vocals

Daniel Pravda was born in Lithuania and came to America when he was two--alone. After working in the diaper business for a couple years, he got a job working in an Italian restaurant in Virginia Beach known mostly for its sauces and mob connections. Hearing Italian operas and rock music played in a small boombox in the kitchen, Pravda's love for music took bloom. To finance his recordings, he sold guns, weed and insurance to retarded teenagers. He was offered recording deals by Jay Z and Bob Rock, but turned them down to maintain artistic integrity. Pravda has performed with Neil Diamond, Captain Kangaroo, John Lee Hooker, Luciano Pavorotti, Aretha Franklin, The Beastie Boys and countless others. He also was one of the founders of Scroll My Knob Records, and has produced hit records for The Gay Retards, The Skeeters, Beaver Brown and the Quankers, The Conclusion Jumpers, and The Quap. His favorite cereal is Alpha Bits, without milk.

Jeff SchuylerBass/Vocals

The love child Jeff was born to happy parents and spent the first decade of his life mostly in the 1960's, or at least he believed it to be the 60's--all that color, hair, love, and war. He worked his way through every instrument known to man and animal and settled on the bass, the only instrument that could keep all that gushy love and anger at bay. He is a bass-player, bartender, beer-maker, bean-head. He pretends to be a productive member of society. The Seven Cities Kings of Rock found him writing comedy under the George Washington bridge near the lighthouse, drunk on MD 20-20. True bandness then happened.

Joey ProffittDrums/Vocals

Joey Proffitt was born to the mother of the elite Green Team, which automatically put him in line for years of intense training to kill everybody. After years of mass murder he met Dave Grohl. Upon touching Dave's hand he instantly became a rockstar. After various attempts with less than worthy bands he met The Seven Cities Kings of Rock at a small porn shop outside Albuquerque. Epic greatness ensued. The rest is written in the history books of tavern restroom walls everywhere.
